About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Communications Officer to join their team. In this dynamic role, you will play a vital part in promoting our research and evidence, sharing public health information, and managing communications. You will also handle media enquiries and deliver impactful communications strategies that engage with a variety of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Media Relations:
    • Respond to media enquiries, draft press releases, and pitch stories to journalists.
    • Organise and manage events, press conferences, photo calls, and stakeholder visits.
    • Collaborate with partner organisations and journalists on complex or sensitive topics.
  • Content Creation and Publication:
    • Commission, write, edit, and proofread internal and external publications, including leaflets, advice documents, and articles.
    • Translate specialist clinical information into accessible messages for the public.
    • Oversee the print and distribution of communications materials.
  • Campaigns and Marketing:
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing campaigns.
    • Create, write, and edit content for our channels to engage stakeholders and the public.
    • Support the integration of social marketing approaches into our campaigns.

About You:
We are seeking someone with:

  • Strong experience in media relations and content creation.
  • Previous experience as a journalist preferably within the public sector.
  • The ability to communicate complex or sensitive information with clarity and professionalism.
