Job Title: Data Centre Technician
Location: Cardiff (fully onsite requirement)
Remuneration: Hourly rate From 25 to 28
Contract Details: Temporary, until 30th June 2025
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware, following specific instructions, checklists, and standard protocols
- Perform quality checks, verify grounding and cabling setups, and adhere to safety protocols and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs)
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, identify causes, and replace faulty components
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes
- Communicate and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
- Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays
- Previous datacenter experience is a plus
Working Pattern: Monday through Friday, core business hours between 8AM and 5PM
