About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong experience in Power BI analytics to join our client on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of SQL Server databases.
- Monitor and manage database performance, including query optimisation and index management.
- Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Enforce database security measures, including user role management, permissions, and encryption.
Data Integration:
- Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the SQL Server environment.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across all data pipelines.
Power BI Analytics:
- Develop, create, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
- Translate complex datasets into user-friendly visualizations and insights for stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-2 years in SQL database administration and Power BI analytics.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server management and administration.
- Proven expertise in creating Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Basic understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
