SQL Database Administrator

Location: Remote with once-a-month onsite presence in South Wales.Contract Length: 6- monthsSalary: 300 per day OUTSIDE IR35

About the Role:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong experience in Power BI analytics to join our client on a contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your database management skills while leveraging analytics to drive actionable insights. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the smooth operation, performance, and security of our database infrastructure and analytics processes.

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of SQL Server databases.
• Monitor and manage database performance, including query optimisation and index management.
• Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Enforce database security measures, including user role management, permissions, and encryption.

• Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the SQL Server environment.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across all data pipelines.

• Develop, create, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
• Translate complex datasets into user-friendly visualizations and insights for stakeholders.

• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.

• Experience: 1-2 years in SQL database administration and Power BI analytics.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server management and administration.
  • Proven expertise in creating Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices.
  • Basic understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
