ASD Support - Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated and compassionate professional with experience supporting children with additional learning needs? We are seeking an ALN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a learner with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within an educational setting.

About the Role:

As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the learner remains engaged and on track with their learning. The role requires someone with patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to support the child's academic, personal, and social development.

Key responsibilities include:? Providing structured and engaging support tailored to the child's individual needs? Implementing movement breaks and play-based learning to maintain focus and engagement? Encouraging independence and personal growth through positive reinforcement strategies? Ensuring the learner's safety and well-being, including managing tendencies to wander off in a professional and effective manner

Requirements:

? Previous experience supporting children with additional learning needs in an educational setting? A strong understanding of ASD and strategies to support learning through play and structured activities? Ability to maintain a calm and patient approach while keeping the learner engaged? Enhanced DBS check (Essential)? Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (Essential)
