Staffroom Education are looking for Classroom Assistants to fill day-to-day as well as long term bookings within local Nurseries, Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in and around Cardiff.

All of our roles are temporary and therefore flexible, we aim to find the best suited role for your specific circumstances.

We accept those with relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 or degree in Early Years and Education or Childhood Studies) and extensive experience of working with children in a professional capacity. This could be volunteering at your local church group, school or community group or anything similar involving working with groups of children.

Role Requirements:

  • Some recent experience working with children, for example volunteering, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, working in a school, or something similar
  • We also welcome applicants with childcare/education specific qualifications that have experience of working with children

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher
  • Helping the children with individual and group activities
  • Supporting the development of the children’s basic literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
  • Helping the children with their reading
  • Providing feedback to the teacher on pupils progress
  • Helping to prepare and tidy the classroom
  • Helping with administrative tasks
