About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in North Cardiff. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural challenges and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a mainstream classroom. Your focus will be on supporting their academic and personal development, ensuring they thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD and behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective strategies.
  • Assist with academic tasks, fostering the pupil's engagement and progress.
  • Support the pupil's personal development, promoting social skills and positive behaviour.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and staff regarding the pupil's progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting is essential, ideally in a similar 1:1 support role.
  • Qualifications: Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate and be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Skills: A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
