About the Role:
As a Welsh-Medium Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support classroom activities, assisting students with their learning in Welsh and promoting a positive environment. You’ll help prepare Welsh-language learning materials, work with individual students or small groups, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapt materials to meet students’ needs.
- Help students access the curriculum in Welsh and encourage active participation in their learning.
- Provide individual or small group support, helping students remain engaged and confident.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and supporting students’ social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure consistent support and communication.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
Requirements:
- Fluency in Welsh and experience working with children is essential.
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, is advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- A passion for creating a positive and inclusive Welsh-medium learning environment.
- Willingness to undertake additional training if required.
