Associate Director Electrical EngineerCardiff£70,000 - £85,000We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Senior Associate or Associate Director to join our Cardiff office, and work as part of the largest independent consulting engineering firm of its kind. Cardiff itself is a thriving and dynamic creative capital city with a rich cultural heritage, as well as ambitious future in terms of growth as well as a blueprint to become a carbon-neutral city in the next 10 years.What you will you be doing
  • You will be in a client-facing role so you will be attending project meetings along with a range of other client based meetings.
  • You will lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects.
  • Providing a lead role in an integrated project design team with other construction professionals.
  • Taking responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure that they develop their skills and that we get the best out of our people.
  • You will be financially astute and work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered. 
What we are looking for
  • You should have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification and must have chartered status.
  • You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design.
  • You should have an in-depth understanding of modern technical delivery methods, particularly in relation to BIM.
  • You will have plenty of experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading, motivating, and supervising junior/senior engineers.
  • With excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will have proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation, and management.
