SENIOR CREDIT RISK ANALYST

UP TO £50,000 + PENSION + BONUS

An exciting specialist lender with multiple portfolios is looking to add a hardworking, driven Senior Credit Risk Analyst to their portfolio team. The role will involve working closely with different teams across the business whilst also communicating with senior individuals on portfolio performance and findings.

This company is based in Cardiff and South London. They really set the standard in terms of working culture, and analytics within their product space. They have a few offices in the UK and have a hybrid working from home and office system providing great flexibility for its workers.

THE ROLE

The role is a senior credit risk analyst position looking after portfolio performance and insights.

You can expect to be involved in the following day to day:

  • Assist the Head of Retail Risk with reviewing, analysing, and implementing Retail Risk policies.
  • Evaluate scorecard performance and recommend enhancements as needed.
  • Identify and explain key variances in reporting metrics.
  • Conduct data quality checks, investigate discrepancies, and ensure reconciliation.
  • Design, maintain, and report on credit strategy monitoring frameworks and controls, such as auto-decision rules, policy exceptions, DLAs, and risk scorecards.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of retail credit scoring models and scorecards.
  • Support the deployment and integration of models and policies into operational processes.
  • Prepare materials for Retail Risk-related forums, presenting and discussing insights when required.
  • Monitor and assess Collections activities and key performance indicators (e.g., stock levels, arrears, defaults, remarketing efforts) to evaluate portfolio strategy effectiveness and operational performance, including cost, resource, and productivity metrics.
  • Collaborate with Collections teams to optimise strategies, maximise recoveries, and minimise net losses after accounting for associated costs.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • SAS or Python experience - MUST
  • Experience in credit risk portfolio, policy or strategy analytics
  • Strong skills in interpreting data and driving insights
  • A strong university degree in a numerate discipline

  • Up to £50,000 base salary
