SRM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a multi-national company based in Cardiff. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in accounts payable, team leadership, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payment execution, and vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Manage the AP team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Hold the team accountable in paying invoices in line with agreed upon payment terms
  • Develop and implement AP policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk. Define targets for responding to vendor inquiries
  • Collaborate with the Vendor Master Data Specialist to ensure accurate vendor information and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track AP efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls within the AP function.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the AP team, optimising operational processes and ensuring efficiency across various business units

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of managing accounts payable processes with a proven track record of process improvement.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, independent thinker with experience of improving processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Proficient PC skills and experience with financial applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust and build relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
