Allen Lane are delighted to be assisting a leading business service provider to both public and private sector organisations in their search for a Deputy Finance Director to join their Middle Office & Automation Services team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

Location: Cardiff (hybrid working arrangements - 3 days per week office based)

Salary: Competitive

The Deputy Finance Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the future of the Operational Finance function. Reporting into the Director, you will be overseeing the effective operation of the Finance Operations team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and meeting all client and internal targets.

The Role

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Contribute to financial targets, budget performance, annual profit and cash targets.
  • Ensure compliance of all policies including UK GAAP, government accounting rules and banking industry standards.
  • Drive automation, innovation and solutions to service efficiencies. Ensuring objectives, SLA’s and client requirements are met consistently.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in line with organisational strategies.
  • Lead key client relationships to meet and exceed client needs and ensure delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the management of contractual KPIs to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Proactively identify, assess and escalate risks as needed to maintain a strong controlled environment.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and development for direct reports and wider teams. Conducting regular one-to-one performance reviews with team members, supporting their development.

The Candidate

We are looking for ambitious qualified (CIPFA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) candidates with strong technical accounting experience, who have ideally worked in a senior finance operations role within an outsourced environment.

You will have experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines, be able to demonstrate excellent communications skills and have a proven track record of effective decision making with excellent attention to detail.
