We are excited to present an opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner in Group Services. SRM has been retained by a leading multinational company to help recruit top talent for their new Cardiff office.

We are seeking a proactive financial professional to support a couple of the business services functions. In this role, you'll provide actionable insights, challenge business owners, and assist with monthly close and reporting processes. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, deliver financial analysis, and support forecasting and budgeting.

Responsibilities:

Finance Control & Operations:

  • Manage monthly accounting tasks for accurate and timely month-end close, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Review centrally posted numbers (e.g., payroll, 3rd party costs) and reconcile to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee inter-company invoicing to ensure correct allocation of revenue and costs.
  • Work with the team to ensure proper cost categorisation and allocation in procurement.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of opex/capex and monthly capture of capex costs in relevant assets.
  • Monitor depreciation and provide updates and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Continuously review trial balance and trading position, escalating anomalies for resolution.
  • Manage internal finance controls to maintain a robust environment.

Commercial:

  • Support monthly forecasting cycle, working with the budget holders to provide accurate forecasts, along with robust data and trend analysis.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting packages for budget holder and FD review, including weekly/monthly reporting. You will be a key point of contact for Q&A on analysis.
  • Provide variance analysis, flash reporting, revenue/margin analysis, and sales-to-target reporting.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Minimum 3 years of related financial experience with strong analytical skills.
  • Relevant Financial Planning and Analysis experience.
  • Experience with information systems and tools for data management.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (knowledge of programming languages a plus).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Challenging mindset and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Tagetik, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
