Job Description:

1. To provide managers with financial information and reports to enable effective service delivery and planning.

2. To provide trend commentary and financial projections in relation to core budgets and grant funding.

3. To provide information to assist in the procurement and tendering process for the purchase of goods and services,

4. To develop and maintain management information systems to record key service activity.

5. To assist in the monitoring and analysis of performance data, financial and management information.

6. To contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of key service activity, and to ensure that all services are provided within the County policies and procedures and legal requirements.

7. To lead on the gathering of data to respond to FOI and other Information Requests

8. To be the main point of contact for the Direct Payment System, including setting up of new staff with roles and responsibilities

9. To liaise with the Service Accountancy Team as required on budget spend, compliance with Financial Procedural Rules.

10. To be responsible for the management of the Finance Team , including supervision, appraisal, recruitment, induction, disciplinary etc and overall team development and morale, in line with Council policy.

11. To be responsible for the fair and equitable allocation of work to support teams, and for the appropriate use of resources.

12. To organise and support the implementation of agreed policies and procedures across the service sector.

13. To assist in the development of consistent support services using the most efficient and effective systems and practice, through awareness of best practice.

14. To assist with management of health and safety for the appropriate service sector.

15. To provide cover for his/her Support Officer colleagues, as and when required, e.g. cover for annual leave and sickness absence.

16. To undertake project work as required as a member of the Business Support Management Team.

17. To liaise with other agencies to develop and maintain good working relationships and to represent the Council at inter-agency and other relevant meetings.

18. To ensure that all services are provided within a framework of Equal Opportunities and Anti-discriminatory practice and take account of the views of service users.

19. To undertake any other such duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required by the Head of Service from time to time.

20. To participate actively in supporting the principles and practice of equality of opportunity as laid down in the organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy.
