We are delighted to be recruiting for this value led charity based in north Cardiff in helping them find a talented and experienced Finance Manager.This organisation has a strong and unique values base, developing aims and objectives with their people in mind, and they place a strong emphasis on maintaining a person-centered culture.This role is a varied one and as the new Finance Manager, you will provide financial insights and analysis, support decision-making processes, and contribute to strategic planning.As a key part of your new role you will manage the annual budget setting process, produce management accounts and support the Head of Finance with year-end. We are therefore looking for someone who has a strong management accounting background and who enjoys business partnering as part of their role.

The job
  • Manage the overall financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making processes, and contribute to strategic planning
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance and compare against budgets and forecasts
  • Promote business partnering and meet with budget holders to discuss financial performance and provide them with financial information and detailed spend/income analysis
  • Manage the preparation of management accounts and quarterly forecasting to monitor income and expenditure against budget
  • Produce a quarterly cash flow and manage investments in line with the treasury policy
  • Assist Head of Finance with external audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts
  • Consult with external stakeholders, such as auditors, banks, and local authorities, to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance
  • Line manage one direct report and provide guidance, whilst fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
The person specification
  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA accountant or finalist with 10+ years’ experience in finance
  • 4 day week considered for the right person
  • Expereience of managing a small team is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing monthly management accounts and other reports for budget holders is essential
  • Experience of annual budgeting and forecasting is essential
  • Strong finance systems experience essential
  • Resilient with the ability to manage a small team effectively
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Driver’s license essential
