We are seeking a dedicatedFood Technicianto joina Cardiff secondary school. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting both staff and students in theirfood technology department.
Role Overview:As our Food Technician, youll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our teaching kitchens. Responsibilities will include:
- Routine maintenance and safe, hygienic use of food preparation, storage, and cooking equipment.
- Overseeing department laundry and the hygienic handling and storage of food ingredients.
- Assisting in the preparation and safe storage of pupil projects and products.
- Daily clean-down of teaching kitchens to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Ordering ingredients and consumables as needed for classes.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or food preparation environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (required).
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
Hours & Pay:
- Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30 am 3:30 pm (term-time only)
- Pay:£85.04 to £100 per day, depending on experience.
