Warehouse Forklift Operator

Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Dispatch Forklift Operator in Cardiff on a split morning and afternoon shift pattern.

The successful candidate will preferably have experience of operating a Combi forklift, but if not a Combi, then the candidate will need experience of operating a Sideloader, Reach or Counterbalance Forklift with at least 2 years of experience. You must have loading experience within an engineering or heavy manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure all orders are loaded and dispatched correctly and on time, and the corresponding paperwork is checked and completed accurately.

• Starting shift pattern:Monday to Friday shifts Week 1: 6am - 2pm, Week 2: 2pm to 10pm, Week 3: 10pm - 6am - Shift allowance is 10% for afternoon shifts, and 30% for nights.
• This role will change to a '223' shift pattern by the end of 2024 due to an internal uplift and new shift starting - this will go as follows: 2 days in, 2 days off, 3 days in, 2 days off, 2 days in, 3 days off etc. These shifts will be 12 hour shifts on a 2 week rota: Week 1: 6am - 6pm, and Week 2: 6pm - 6am

Dispatch and Forklift Operative Benefits:

• Salary - Basic hourly rate £11.88, Afternoons £13.07, Nights £15.44 (Basic salary ££ 25,945, plus a yearly 10% company bonus - starting at 2594 for this role)

Dispatch Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities

• Load product in a prompt manner, communicating relevant information to the Dispatch Team leader.
• Liaise with Dispatch Team Leader to organise workload and priorities
• Liaise with Production Team Leaders to resolve any issues that may arise in relation to unsatisfactory product
• Load vehicles as required, ensuring 'zero' loading / delivery damage
• Preparation of all finished goods in conjunction with the companies packaging procedures. Ensuring stock levels are above minimum quantities.
• Communicate with haulers in relation to deliveries
• Ensure load photos are taken of all products leaving site.
• Ensure smooth running of deliveries, collection, customer returns, customer collections, adhering to all relevant procedures flagging issues to the Dispatch Team leader
• Make recommendations to improve on performance / procedures.
• Yard management is key. Allocating finished goods in their correct location and updating the system accurately in a timely manner.
• Ensuring the yard is always clear of debris.

Dispatch Forklift Operator Essential Experience/Qualifications

• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering dispatch role
• RTITB Forklift licence - Combi lift license
• Understanding of Dispatch processes
• Manufacturing knowledge and experience
• A willingness to be flexible regarding working hours
