Douglas Scott are currently working with a top tier firm who are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Defendant Clinical Negligence Associate to join their dynamic team specialising in healthcare litigation. This role offers the chance to work with a leading national healthcare provider in a team known for excellence on the defendant clinical negligence market. Position: Clinical Negligence AssociateLocation: Cardiff - hybrid working Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS Trusts, healthcare providers, and insurers.
  • Conduct thorough case assessments, prepare legal documents, and provide strategic advice to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Attend court hearings, negotiate settlements, and lead case strategy discussions with clients and expert witnesses.
  • Work closely with a partner on cases of the utmost severity (to include multi-million-pound matters). 
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 2+ years of experience in clinical negligence, ideally with a focus on defendant work.
  • Strong background in managing complex claims, understanding medical records, and advising clients in high-stakes litigation.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and client communication skills.
  • A proactive team player with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
