MS557 - FabricatorSalary: £14 per hour Location: St. MellonsOverview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Fabricator on behalf of one of our clients. Day to day operations include lining out and marking off following the interpretation of drawings and specifications and undertaking fabrication works including cutting, bending and bonding of sheet metals. This role will be subject to a day shift only and is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow their skillset. This role is working shifts, so flexibility is required. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fabricate metal parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform metal bonding tasks.
- Read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Ensure that all manufacturing quality is of the expected high standard and all quality paperwork is adhered to.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained and work areas are clean and free of debris.
- Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your team leader / supervisor.
- Ensure all quality issues are dealt with and reported.
- Report compliance concerns, issues and failures.
- Participate in training as required.
- All personnel have a responsibility for taking reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions. You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with power tools and hand tools for metalworking.
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Measuring, cutting, clamping, grinding and drilling metal pieces before bonding.
- Good IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft programmes.
- Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
- A positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
- A willingness to be flexible when needed regarding working hours.
- Following safety procedures and wearing protective gear.
