Our client, an international commercial law firm with a strong presence in Cardiff, is seeking an experienced Insolvency Senior Associate to join their highly regarded Disputes team. This is a fantastic opportunity to handle a varied caseload, contribute to the business's success, and provide exceptional legal advice on corporate, financial, and commercial law to a diverse range of organisations.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be working within the Commercial Disputes team, handling a range of complex and diverse insolvency-related matters. You will be responsible for managing your own cases, with supervision when needed, as well as supporting the partners on more complex matters. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in business development activities and contribute to the growth of the insolvency team, your caseload typically can involve:

  • Corporate, Personal and Cross border insolvency work
  • Litigation
  • Advisory Work
  • Asset Recovery
  • Restructuring and Turnaround

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' PQE within a reputable insolvency/litigation team.
  • Experience handling a range of contentious insolvency-related matters, ideally with experience acting for IPs, creditors, and owners of insolvent/potentially insolvent businesses.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of insolvency-related legislation and recent case law.
  • The ability to build and develop relationships with insolvency practitioners across the UK.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organisational skills, time management, and problem-solving ability.
  • The confidence to handle your own cases and work independently, while also being a team player.
  • A client-focused approach and a drive to provide excellent service.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage caseloads, meet deadlines, and present innovative solutions to clients.
  • Adhere to internal procedures and systems, including file/case management and time recording.
  • Stay up to date with law and practise through continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct and generate practise income.
