Involve Recruitment are in search of a highly skilled Setting out Engineer with experience in slab & concrete, and reinforced concrete groundworks, to join our team on a prestigious, large-scale industrial project in South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful completion of a complex and high-profile construction project.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in reinforced concrete works, experience managing large-scale construction projects, and the ability to effectively oversee groundworks and slab installation on-site. You will be part of a dedicated team, ensuring the project progresses on time, to specification, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation and management of slab and concrete works, ensuring that all reinforced concrete groundworks meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of concrete works including formwork, rebar, pouring, curing, and finishing of slabs and reinforced concrete.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Monitor and manage concrete deliveries, ensuring that schedules are adhered to and any issues with material quality or site readiness are promptly addressed.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to assess the progress of slab & concrete works, ensuring all activities are compliant with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the Site Manager and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of concrete works and keep the project on track.
  • Review and interpret structural engineering drawings and project plans, providing technical support and guidance to the site team.
  • Oversee subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all site activities, including work completed, materials used, and any changes or variations to the project scope.
  • Assist with the snagging process and final handover, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to prevent delays or complications.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are followed on-site.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer, with a specific focus on slab & concrete and reinforced concrete groundworks in large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
  • A strong career history with long-term employment at previous companies and no history of job-hopping; we are seeking a committed and reliable professional with a proven track record.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • A valid CSCS card and other relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, First Aid) are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience working on large-scale construction projects, particularly in the industrial or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete works, groundworks, and the technical aspects of slab installation.
  • Familiarity with construction software and systems for project tracking and reporting is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
