Randstad are proud to be working with Cardiff Council to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Agency Social Worker to join the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who have experienced significant challenges and are seeking safety and stability in the UK.

As part of the UASC Team, you will work directly with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, providing them with emotional support, safeguarding, and guidance while helping them navigate the complex social care and immigration systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of the needs and risks of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Provide advocacy, support, and guidance to help children access essential services, including health, education, and legal representation.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including immigration authorities, legal representatives, and educational institutions.
  • Ensure that children's voices are central to all decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training to ensure continuous professional development.
