Systems Administrator - Linux / VMWare - Hybrid working

One of biggest customers in looking for an experienced Systems Administrator - Linux / VMWare to join them on a hybrid working basis.

As the Systems Administrator your key responsibilities are

  • Manage 50+ virtual servers running different variants of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.), including user management, security, and system upgrades
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain our VMware ESXi environment (versions 6, 7, or 8), ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Regularly apply security patches to all servers, ensure firewalls are properly configured, and implement network-wide firewall rules
  • Plan and execute annual server upgrades to the latest stable releases for all Linux systems.

About you

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong knowledge of administering Linux systems, including installation, upgrading, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience managing virtualized environments with VMware vSphere (6, 7 or 8).
  • Proven experience managing MySQL/MariaDB/other RDBMS
  • Ability to create and maintain clear, concise, and detailed documentation
