Experienced Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Cardiff Bay

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2 (KS2) with challenging behaviour, located within a primary school in the Cardiff Bay area. The successful candidate will be required to support a pupil who is frequently mobile and may require additional assistance to engage in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil in KS2 with specific behavioural and learning needs.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviours and create a positive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for the pupil to thrive academically and socially.
  • Encourage independence and promote positive behaviour strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Confidence and experience in supporting children with challenging behaviour and additional needs.
  • A DBS check and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) are essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students.

Position Details:

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
