Twenty4Seven Education are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work with students who have a range of learning and physical disabilities. As an agency providing support to schools across the Cardiff area, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role will include working closely with students to provide personalized support, help them access the curriculum, and promote their independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students’ needs are met effectively.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students with tasks, activities, and social interactions.
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement.
  • Help with behavior management strategies and ensure a positive, respectful environment.
  • Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher, SEN coordinator, and other staff members to monitor progress and provide feedback.
  • Help students develop life skills, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs, where necessary, following appropriate safeguarding guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach, with a genuine desire to support children in their learning and personal development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in responding to the varying needs of students.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to apply for one.
  • (Optional) Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, or other relevant qualifications.
