Job Title: Payroll Manager
Location: Cardiff
This position is office based, 5 days per week in central Cardiff. Please only apply for this role if you are happy to be office based.

An industry leader in the fashion sector, our client are actively recruiting for an Payroll Manager to join the finance team at their Office in Cardiff. With a growing portfolio of over 700 trading stores and a forward-thinking business strategy to grow further, this role provides essential support to the finance team. As a Payroll Manager, you will ensure that employees for which you are directly responsible) are paid correctly, on time, and in line with statutory legislation
Key Responsibilities & Objectives for the role
- Check electronic starter/leaver/change forms received from branches and manual forms from Head Office
- Upload weekly/monthly hours from branches
- Calculate and process SSP/SMP/SPP/SAP
- Download and check Tax Codes/Student loans from the Inland Revenue
- Check and enter P46/P45 tax forms
- Complete benefit forms / Mortgage references
- Deal with monthly payroll of 6,000 colleagues
- Isle of Man Payroll/Guernsey Payroll/ Eire Payroll
- Process data to strict timetable deadlines ensuring that all data received in payroll is accurate and ready for uploading
- Check trial run data that has been imputed by payroll team and communicate any errors back to management for corrections to be made.
- Stop any necessary BACS payments
- Checking and paying over of AOE/CSA order deductions
- Checking and paying over of voluntary deductions
- Liaise with branches / Head Office colleagues
- Deal with any payroll queries as they arise from colleagues or 3rd party via telephone, E-mail & post
- Run any necessary reports required by other departments in Excel
- Open post & filing
Key experiences
- Proven experience within a Payroll functions and have working knowledge of start to end payroll.
- Ideally experience in a large, complex business with 5000+ employees.
- Confident with working with Excel and Payroll Systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
