We are excited to support a thriving business based in Cardiff in their search for an HR Advisor. This organisation is renowned for its friendly, inclusive work environment and has earned praise from employees for its positive, healthy culture.

As part of a dynamic and supportive HR team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional HR services to approximately 1,000 staff. In this role, you will collaborate with three other HR Advisors, each serving as an HR partner to a specific business area, working together to provide tailored support and guidance across the organisation. The position reports to an experienced and approachable Senior HR Business Partner, providing an excellent opportunity to work closely with managers and staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing workplace. The role is being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The business offers a highly flexible working week to suit all needs.

The job
  • Ensuring that all line managers are skilled in applying HR Policies and procedures.
  • Advise and support managers in consistently applying HR policies and processes.
  • Manage a HR case load in line with Service Level Agreements and HR Policy and procedures.
  • Direct all staff to the relevant HR Policies and ensure they understand their responsibilities.
  • Work alongside the recruitment team to ensure that current and future resourcing requirements are met.
  • Support the Line managers in proactively managing absence and attrition, ensuring Occupational Health support is considered as and when necessary.
  • Support in embedding the appraisal process throughout the Company.
  • Maintaining HR Information systems and producing HR Reports in line with the needs of the department and business.
  • Take a proactive approach in achieving and exceeding the HR team KPIs.
  • Work remotely with managers of all departments and internal HR colleagues.
  • Effectively respond to queries coming into the department and where necessary ensure the relevant HR Administrative Processes are actioned accordingly.
  • Support the business in improving staff engagement resulting in improved retention.
The person specification
  • Level 5 CIPD qualified/part qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a fast paced, Human Resources role.
  • Experience of advising on short term absence management policy and processes.
  • ER Case management experience/knowledge i.e.: absence, conduct, grievance & capability.
  • An understanding of current employment law and the statutory rights of employees.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing wellbeing initiatives.
  • A working knowledge of maintaining HR information systems and reporting.
  • The ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
  • The ability to influence managers at all levels.
  • Own transport and full driving licence.
