Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading Manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on to fill a Senior Technical Product Support Specialist role in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will have experience of construction industry products, preferably having worked within a Technical Customer Support role within building material manufacturing/ engineering or within a Civil Engineering role. You will also need to have strong communication skills with the ability to provide accurate technical advice around design drawings, being able to consult on these drawings, providing alternative solutions to any issues raised with them, also having proven ability of using either CAD, Revit or SolidWorks software.

Senior Technical Product Support Specialist Benefits:

  • Starting salary of up to 35,000 (may be negotiable for the right person)

Senior Technical Product Support Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Offering detailed technical support for a variety of customer inquiries, maintaining exceptional customer service standards at all times.
  • Assisting customers through various channels, including email and telephone, to ensure their inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of a diverse range of technical products, with comprehensive training provided to ensure proficiency.
  • Communicating with customers to discuss and understand their specific technical specifications and drawing requirements, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Providing robust and informed technical advice and solutions for design-related issues, tailored to the specific needs of the product range.
  • Advising customers on suitable product alternatives or necessary amendments, ensuring these adjustments meet their technical and functional requirements.
  • Conducting detailed calculations and assessments to qualify the suitability of products for their intended use, with full training provided to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documents for both internal team use and external customer reference, ensuring information is clear and accessible.
  • Actively contributing to project work, including generating and developing innovative ideas for service and product improvements based on direct customer feedback and industry trends.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities, aiming to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of support provided.

Senior Technical Product Support Specialist Essential Experience/Qualifications

  • You will need to have experience within a Technical customer orientated Support within either Engineering/ Manufacturing/ Civil Engineering/ Construction
  • Able to interpret and understand technical drawings with a basic knowledge of CAD/ Revit/ Solidworks or other design systems
  • Experience of liaising with customers, getting better understandings of their design briefs or specifications
  • Proven ability to pick up technical product knowledge
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to build rapport quickly and maintain relationships both over the phone and over email
  • T. Literate

Desirable but not essential:

  • Ability to use CAD/ Revit/ Solidworks/ Fusion 360 to create drawings
  • Experience of calculating product suitability
