Job Title: Data Centre Technician

Location: Cardiff (fully onsite requirement)

Remuneration: Hourly rate From £25 to £28

Contract Details: Temporary, until 30th June 2025

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware, following specific instructions, checklists, and standard protocols
  • Perform quality checks, verify grounding and cabling setups, and adhere to safety protocols and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs)
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, identify causes, and replace faulty components
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes
  • Communicate and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
  • Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays
  • Previous datacenter experience is a plus

Working Pattern: Monday through Friday, core business hours between 8AM and 5PM
