About the Role
As a Town Planner focusing on retail projects, you will manage planning applications and appeals for large-scale retail developments, working with major retail brands, shopping centres, and mixed-use schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in high-profile projects that shape the retail landscape across the UK, providing expert planning advice and solutions to a broad range of clients.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and lead planning applications and development appraisals for retail projects.
·Provide strategic planning advice to clients, including major retailers, developers, and investors.
·Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and other consultants to secure planning permissions.
·Prepare and submit detailed reports, statements, and environmental assessments.
·Monitor retail market trends and changes in planning policy to guide client strategies.
·Represent clients in negotiations and at planning committees.
·Collaborate with internal teams including architecture, development, and project management to deliver seamless consultancy services.
 
About You
Qualifications: Degree in Town Planning or related discipline, ideally MRTPI accredited.
Experience: 3+ years' experience in planning, with a strong background in retail or commercial developments.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of retail planning policies and UK planning regulations.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and negotiation skills.
Personal Attributes: Proactive, commercially minded, and confident in client-facing roles.
