Penguin Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a UK leading planning and development consultancy, who are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join their growing South-West and Wales team based from their Cardiff office!

This established and renowned team work on a range of high-profile planning projects across various sectors, including energy and net zero infrastructure, town centre regeneration, commercial and residential. The Cardiff office is at the heart of delivering impactful projects that contribute to the growth and development of the region, as well as supporting an exciting portfolio of projects throughout the UK!

The Role: As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

  • Lead and manage complex planning applications and projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on planning policy, strategy, and legislation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that support sustainable growth.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Mentor and guide junior planners, helping them grow in their careers.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Town Planning (MRTPI accreditation is essential).
  • Significant experience in town planning, ideally private sector.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national planning policies and procedures.
  • A commercial mindset.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to planning challenges.
