A growing law firm with a well-established national network is seeking a dynamic and experienced Family Law professional to lead and expand its Family Law Department across the South Wales and Greater Bristol area. This is an exciting opportunity to build and develop a Family team within a firm that prides itself on delivering compassionate, high-quality legal services that protect the interests of clients and their loved ones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Department Leadership: Oversee and develop a team of family lawyers, setting strategic goals for the department and implementing plans to expand the firm’s Family Law presence in South Wales.
  • Client Representation: Provide expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements, cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, child maintenance, and domestic abuse cases.
  • Business Development: Proactively drive growth through client acquisition, networking, and developing partnerships, with a focus on enhancing the firm’s reputation and market presence in the region.
  • Collaborative Solutions: Work closely with colleagues across the firm’s diverse practice areas, leveraging expertise to provide comprehensive legal solutions for clients whose family law matters intersect with other legal fields.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment while encouraging professional growth and client-centered service excellence.
Ideal Candidate:

The role requires a strong leader with extensive family law experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record in managing complex family law matters. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years’ PQE in family law, with demonstrable experience in leadership and team-building.
  • Expertise in Family Law: Strong knowledge of family law issues, including divorce, financial arrangements, child custody, domestic abuse, and related legal proceedings.
  • Client-Focused Approach: Compassionate and supportive in handling emotionally sensitive cases, with an unwavering commitment to achieving fair resolutions for clients.
  • Business Acumen: Skilled in business development and able to expand the department’s reach within the region through strategic planning and effective client relationship management.
