About the Role: Senior Partner - Head of Energy

The firm is seeking an exceptional Senior Partner to take on the role of Head of Energy, responsible for shaping and executing the strategic vision for this key sector. Leading a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will advise clients on a broad spectrum of energy-related matters, including real estate, corporate transactions, litigation, commercial contracts, and employment issues. With a wealth of industry experience and a well-established client network, the Senior Partner will play a pivotal role in driving business development, enhancing client relationships, and strengthening the firm’s market position.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the firm’s strategy for the Energy sector, ensuring continued growth, market leadership, and innovation.

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Leverage an extensive network to attract new clients while nurturing and expanding relationships with existing industry leaders in the energy sector.

Legal Expertise & Supervision

  • Lead on complex, high-profile energy-related legal matters, spanning real estate, corporate law, disputes, commercial contracts, and employment.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Business Development & Market Positioning

  • Drive the growth of the Energy practice group through targeted marketing, thought leadership, and active participation in industry events.

Cross-Practice Collaboration

  • Collaborate seamlessly with partners across the firm to ensure an integrated, full-service offering for energy clients.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor/Barrister: A minimum of 10 years PQE, with extensive experience in energy-related legal matters.
  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrable success in a leadership role, ideally as a Partner or Senior Counsel at a reputable UK law firm.
  • Expertise in Energy Law: In-depth knowledge across the full range of energy-related legal matters, including real estate, corporate, disputes, commercial contracts, and employment.
  • Business Development: Strong business development skills with an established client network and portable book of business being a distinct advantage.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strategic, commercially focused approach to client advice that goes beyond legal considerations.
  • Relationship Management: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
  • Innovative & Collaborative Mindset: A forward-thinking approach, embracing technology and innovation to enhance client service and the firm’s offerings.
