Key Responsibilities-
Provide legal advice on litigation, regulatory prosecutions, governance, and public law.

Represent the Council in court, tribunals, hearings, and inquiries.

Conduct civil and criminal litigation, ensuring high-quality case preparation and advocacy.

Support judicial review proceedings and regulatory compliance matters.

Advise on education law, including school admission appeals and policy interpretation.

Assist in the development and implementation of Council policies and governance structures.

Work collaboratively with senior legal officers and council stakeholders to deliver effective legal services.

Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate.

Experience in criminal litigation and prosecutions, preferably in a local authority setting.

Knowledge of public law and local government procedures.

Strong advocacy and litigation skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.

Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
