The Role

At Capital Law, we are committed to providing top-notch legal services to our clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement law and will be responsible for advising clients on all aspects of the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advisory Services: Provide expert legal advice to clients on procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Policy Development: Assist clients in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
  • Contract Management: Draft and review procurement contracts and related documents, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on procurement law and best practices.
  • Market Insights: Stay up to date with the latest developments in procurement law and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored legal solutions.

Key Competencies:

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) with 6+ PQE
  • Experience in public procurement law gained within private practice or the public sector.
  • Experience in procurement litigation is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with some exposure to business development, able to maintain and nurture strong client relationships.
  • Ability to contribute to our collaborative culture and assist in the development of junior team members.
  • Proven experience in supervising and/or managing junior team members is desirable but not essential.
  • Driven and ambitious with the commitment to developing the firm’s offering locally and nationally.
