RME Consultants is delighted to be working with a client who is going through exciting growth and looking for a Legal Secretary to join the team in Cardiff.

Role: Legal Secretary

Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum

Contract: 12 Months Maternity Cover

Location: Cardiff

Main Duties for Legal Secretary;

  • Billing Management: Handle nearly 100% billing responsibilities, including invoice generation, WIP tracking, and payment follow-up for 15 fee earners with varying billing needs.
  • Financial Administration: Apply financial knowledge to ensure accurate and timely processing of billing, while maintaining detailed financial records.
  • Secretarial Support: Perform essential secretarial tasks, such as managing correspondence, scheduling, and organizing documents, to support billing processes.
  • Client and Team Interaction: Communicate with fee earners and clients regarding billing inquiries, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Workload Management: Efficiently manage billing workloads, adjusting to the varying demands of different fee earners.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain billing-related documents, reports, and records for internal and client use.

Experience required for Legal Secretary

  • Billing Experience: Some experience or familiarity with billing processes, including invoice generation and WIP tracking, preferably in a professional or finance-related environment.
  • Financial Background: Strong foundation in finance, with the ability to apply this knowledge to billing tasks and manage financial records accurately.
  • Administrative/Secretarial Skills: Basic experience in administrative or secretarial duties, including document management, scheduling, and correspondence handling.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a role that is heavily focused on billing while also managing essential administrative tasks.
  • Workload Management: Ability to manage billing for multiple fee earners, adjusting to varying workloads and demands efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial and administrative tasks, ensuring all billing activities are correctly processed and documented.
