The role of Distribution Centre Manager is to oversee effective handling of throughput and maintaining customer satisfaction. Ensure meeting KPIs, controlling budgets, maintaining high standards of health &safety, and housekeeping standards.

Duties & Responsibilities for thisDistribution Centre Manager:

  • Plan and allocate distribution centre resources by department or brand, aligning with DC throughput.
  • Calculate weekly staffing levels and holiday allowances, optimising resource whilst minimising the need for agency staff, based on projected budgeted volumes.
  • Ensure daily work plans are executed to meet external transport schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure all DC intake schedules align with predefined KPIs and business requirements, adapting plans to accommodate peak demand fluctuations.
  • Take responsibility for assessing the overall performance of team members.
  • Identify training needs for all team members within your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety regulations and housekeeping standards.

To be successful in this Distribution Centre Manager:

  • A minimum of 3 years + of supervisory or manager experience in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated people management skills and motivate others.
  • That you are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You must be able to work night shift patterns within the week.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including effective time management to adapt to shifting demands and priorities.
  • Resourceful and capable of identifying issues and implementing proactive solutions.
  • Be able to drive and hve access to a car.
