Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily roasting operations, ensuring consistency in coffee quality and production efficiency.
  • Develop and implement roasting schedules, ensuring optimal stock levels of raw and roasted coffee.
  • Supervise automated and manual packaging lines, allocating labour efficiently to meet demand.
  • Lead, train, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry certifications and food safety standards (HACCP, Fairtrade, Organic).
  • Take ownership of stock control, conducting regular inventory checks and minimizing waste.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to prevent downtime.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Monitor and manage operational costs, working within budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demand.
  • Support business growth, contributing to strategic planning for increased capacity and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

Skills and personal qualities considered to be essential to the role are:

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing production teams.
  • Background in food production, manufacturing, or coffee roasting (desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial food processing or roasting equipment (mechanical/electrical skills highly desirable).
  • Understanding of ERP systems and production planning software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high product and operational standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to business growth and evolving demands
