Job Title: Building Services Engineer
Location: Cardiff (Static Commercial Site)
Salary: Up to 33,500 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 2 off (Alternating shifts: 2pm-10pm and 6am-2pm)
Team: 7 Engineers
On-Call: 1 in 12
Overtime: Available
Holiday: 24 days plus bank holidays
Parking: On-site
Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Services Engineer to join a dynamic team on a static commercial site in Cardiff, for a large and well renowned facilities maitnenance company. We are looking for a motivated and reliable engineer with a commercial background, ideally with a bias in either electrical or mechanical disciplines. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of building systems, performing both PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine PPM tasks across all building systems and equipment.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns.
- Work effectively within a team of 7 engineers to maintain site infrastructure and systems.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring compliance with site regulations and industry standards.
- Assist with any necessary repairs and technical troubleshooting.
- Participate in a 1 in 12 call-out rota.
- Support site management in improving building performance
Ideal Candidate:
- Commercial background in building services engineering (essential).
- Electrical or mechanical bias (either discipline is welcome).
- Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance within a commercial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and reliable, with a positive approach to shift work.
