The role:We require a Mechanical Design Engineer from a rail or building services background to join the regional M&E Team. You will be undertaking engineering designs across a variety of projects which will hail from the company’s core disciplines listed above. As your experience develops you can expect to involved in mentoring and guiding junior engineers through their early career journey, thus benefiting your own opportunities for progression. Full training and opportunities for continued professional development will be provided, this business has a impressively low staff turnover and this is largely down to the investment they make into their team.  Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical design primarily with building services and rail
  • Liaising and communicating with other disciplines, clients and contractors
  • Actively engaging in site and design team meetings
  • Managing the design of mechanical elements for entire projects
  • Coordinating with engineers from other design disciplines
  • Assisting with bid preparations and cost estimates
  • Leadership and mentoring
  • Site surveys and feasibility studies
Requirements:
  • A keen interest in the environmental impact of developments, the use of sustainability and emerging low impact techniques and technologies
  • Experience checking designs and managing risk analyses
  • An effective communicator
  • Mechanical design experience within the construction sector
  • Knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, eco-cooling, heating, cold and hot water systems
