AA Euro Group are working with a leading Main Contractor and looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team for a new Data Centre Project in Wales.

Role Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, coordination, and installation of mechanical systems on a large-scale Data Centre project. This position requires technical expertise in HVAC, cooling, and piping systems, with responsibility for ensuring that all mechanical works are executed to high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. The role involves collaboration with design teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure mechanical systems meet project specifications and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will assist in the design and coordination of mechanical systems, ensuring they align with the overall project goals and timelines. You will work closely with the Mechanical Lead and design consultants, reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and material selections to ensure compliance with the project requirements.

On-site, you will oversee the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring that works are carried out according to design and safety standards. Regular inspections, troubleshooting, and quality checks will be part of your daily activities to ensure systems such as HVAC, cooling, and fire protection are installed correctly and function as required. You will also be involved in the commissioning process, working to ensure mechanical systems are tested and operational before project handover.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience working on large-scale construction projects, preferably data centres or mission-critical environments. You should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water systems, and fire suppression, with experience in both design and installation.

Technical proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with BIM processes are important for this role. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team are also essential. Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMECHE) would be an advantage.
