MS492 - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Elec bias) Location: Cardiff Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum basicOverview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will provide support and maintain operations across all sites on breakdowns and preventive plant maintenance. the successful candidates should be willing to undertake any necessary duties which would fall within the maintenance department.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team by carrying out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes.
  • Use initiative to identify areas that will improve the production performance, line utilisation and focus on reducing scrap levels.
  • Provide maintenance support regarding projects.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the engineering environment during any slack time.
  • Work in line with the Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately.
  • Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions. You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a good understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering concepts to be able to perform all reasonable job requests to the highest level.
  • Have a good understand of fault finding and diagnostic techniques and fully understand engineering circuit schematics.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication.
  • Willingness to be flexible regarding working hours.
  • Positive proactive approach to working, ensuring that tasks are completed to a high standard, first time.
  • Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately.
