Trainee Mechanical Technician (Instrumentation)

Are you an aspiring Mechanical Technician with an interest in Instrumentation machinery such as pumps, valves, pressure transmitters or similar looking for full training on technical products and a platform to kickstart your Calibration career with a leading company within the Oil & Gas industry offering progression opportunities and a company bonus to increase your earnings?

This well-established company provide a range of instrumentation products for a broad client base across the Oil & Gas industry. They have continually grown since their establishment in 1972 to the point that they have over 60 employees and due to an ever-increasing workload are looking to grow their friendly calibration team.

This varied role will see you initially receive full training and then work within the tight-knit calibration team as you learn about humidity and power calibration whilst predominantly working inhouse within the Pontypridd lab. Further to this you will undertake work on a range of instrumentation equipment in addition to undertaking some local travel visiting some customer sites as far as Worcester and Gloucester.

This exciting role would suit a Trainee or aspiring Mechanical Technician looking to kickstart their career in Calibration in a well-established company offering full training and a bonus to increase your earnings.

The Role:

  • 08:00-16:30 Monday - Friday + occasional weekend
  • Undertake varied calibration work on a range of instruments including: flow meters, valves, pressure transmitters, gauges, thermometers and more
  • Full training - learn essential humidity and power calibration skills
  • Join a small team of Calibration engineers
  • Local travel to customer sites

The Person:

  • Mechanical background / qualification or similar
  • Instrumentation experience - understanding of pumps, valves, transmitters or similar
  • Full driving License
  • Commutable to Pontypridd
