About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Welsh Teacher to join our dynamic team in Cardiff. This role is perfect for an educator who is dedicated to fostering a love for the Welsh language and culture among students. The successful candidate will create engaging and effective lessons that inspire students to deepen their linguistic skills and cultural awareness, supporting the development of confident Welsh speakers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Welsh language lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales across various key stages.
- Promote fluency through interactive activities, discussions, and immersive language experiences.
- Track, assess, and report on student progress, adapting strategies to support individual learning needs.
- Actively participate in school events, clubs, and extracurricular activities related to Welsh language and culture.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages language acquisition and cultural respect.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a qualified teacher with strong expertise in the Welsh language and a comprehensive understanding of the Curriculum for Wales. You should be dedicated to inspiring students to explore the richness of the Welsh language and culture, while promoting inclusivity and respect for linguistic diversity.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a focus on Welsh.
- Proven experience teaching Welsh, ideally within a secondary school setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and relevant assessment methods.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to inspiring student engagement and growth.
- Dedication to creating a learning environment that values critical thinking, inclusivity, and cultural appreciation.
