We have a fantastic opportunity for a Divisional Payroll Manager to join our clients Finance department at their Head Office in Cardiff.

As the Divisional Payroll Manager, you will ensure that employees for which you are directly responsible) are paid correctly, on time, and in line with statutory legislation.
Responsibilities/ Objective
- Check electronic starter/leaver/change forms received from branches and manual forms from Head Office & Warehouse
- Upload weekly/monthly hours from branches & warehouse
- Calculate and process SSP/SMP/SPP/SAP
- Download and check Tax Codes/Student loans from the Inland Revenue
- Check and enter P46/P45 tax forms
- Complete benefit forms / Mortgage references
- Deal with monthly payroll of c3,500 colleagues
- Isle of Man Payroll/Guernsey Payroll
- Process data to strict timetable deadlines ensuring that all data received in payroll is accurate and ready for uploading
- Check trial run data that has been imputed by payroll team and communicate any errors back to management for corrections to be made.
- Stop any necessary BACS payments
- Checking and paying over of AOE/CSA order deductions
- Checking and paying over of voluntary deductions
- Liaise with branches / Head Office / Warehouse colleagues
- Deal with any payroll queries as they arise from colleagues or 3rd party via telephone, E-mail & post
- Run any necessary reports required by other departments in Excel
- Open post & filing
- Supervision of payroll assistant
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience within a Payroll functions and have working knowledge of start to end payroll.
- Confident with working with Excel and Payroll Systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
