- Reviewing and verifying employee starter, leaver, and change documentation.
- Inputting and processing weekly and monthly hours submitted by branches.
- Administering statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP, and SAP.
- Processing tax forms, including P45s and P46s, and reconciling HMRC updates for tax codes and student loans.
- Preparing financial documents like benefit forms and mortgage references.
- Reviewing trial payroll runs, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring corrections are made promptly.
- Managing deductions, including attachment of earnings orders and voluntary contributions.
- Responding to payroll queries from internal teams and external contacts.
- Generating reports for other departments using Excel.
- Proven experience in a payroll function, with knowledge of end-to-end processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Confident communication skills to handle queries and liaise with teams across the business.
