Planning Manager

The Advocate Group are support the search for a Planning Manager to join a dynamic team at a leading manufacturing company. Playing a crucial role in optimizing our planning and logistics processes, you will ensure the seamless coordination of raw materials and packaging to meet production goals and maintain high service levels.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Planning and Logistics Manager and Warehouse Manager to support the Planning department.
  • Oversee the fine details of planning, including tanker arrivals, supplier issues, and stock levels.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Planning department, ensuring timely ordering of raw materials and packaging.
  • Lead a team of 4 direct reports (2 Production Planners, 2 Materials Schedulers).
  • Ensure the availability of an accurate and achievable production plan for all factory lines (Ambient and Chill).
  • Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and material usage variance reporting.
  • Support the delivery of the MES project and deputize for the Planning & Logistics Manager as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as APO and SAP ECC.
  • Strong knowledge of master data and issue resolution.
  • Experience in a just-in-time planning environment.
  • Ability to set and manage KPIs for scheduled and planned attainment processes.
  • Expertise in controlling material stocks and availability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and edit spreadsheets.
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP BI reporting.
  • Ability to maintain a site service level of 98.5% and deliver 100% on direct deliveries.
  • Strong customer service relations with internal stakeholders.
