Your new companyMy client is a non-ministerial government department and an independent National Regulatory Authority who is currently looking for an interim Procurement Manager based in their Cardiff office. The position is hybrid with 2 days working in the office per week.The position is a 6 month assignment. My clients are open to category experience, but it would be advantageous to have Prof services/IT and you will need to have an understanding of the public sector and the regulations on the upcoming procurement act.Your new roleThe purpose of the interim procurement manager is to partner with specific directorates to ensure robust, compliant procurement activity, deliver training on contract management and support planning and execution of efficient, effective procurement and contract management practices across the directorate.What you'll need to succeedYou will need experience:

  • Working closely with Senior Procurement partners to help support directorate Directors to understand current and future requirements
  • Managing and executing all procurement activities in line with required regulations and controls, ensuring best practice is adopted
  • Undertake reviews of spend and services against specific contracts, identifying issues, and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Taking the lead in supporting supplier review meetings (tender, performance reviews), to ensure appropriate services and terms are agreed
