Role Overview:

REED Procurement have partnered with a fantastic Manufacturer in the Cardiff area who are looking for a Senior Buyer to focus on their NPD Procurement Projects, and play a key part in global contract negotations. The company offers a fantastic benefits package and truly value their employees.

The role will take the lead on supplier onboarding, performance management and purchasing negotiations in line with Global Sourcing Strategy. To represent the Procurement function for New Product Development teams to ensure early involvement of internal stakeholders and key suppliers to deliver cost effect and robust supply chain solutions. To install, negotiate and maintain key supplier and other key goods (non-raw materials, capital equipment, etc) supply and service contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute & maintain robust sourcing strategies focusing on cost, reliability, flexibility, innovation and risk for raw materials, NPD raw materials, capital equipment other goods and services
  • Lead supplier selection process, through benchmarking, RFx processes, detailed negotiations and contract placement
  • For NPD raw materials: (a) develop and manage accurate costed BoMs and communicate variances during development process; (b) ensure material availability to support the NPD process while managing the risk and exposure of design change and (c) develop stocking profiles and communicate the expected inventory impact post launch.
  • Manage supplier relationships for goods and services, facilitating technical and commercial communication between suppliers and internal customers,
  • Review and focus on sustainability, component portfolio risk management and cost optimisation.
  • Conduct data analysis and use findings to drive Procurement team decisions for production  sustainability and support Global S&OP review.
  • Develop robust supply chains suitable for volume production.
  • Support operational purchasing as required.
