About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cost Manager with a strong background in infrastructure projects, ideally within the rail sector. You will be a key player on a large-scale, high-profile infrastructure project, ensuring the efficient management of costs while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to drive economic growth and increase prosperity within the local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive cost plans, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure accurate cost reporting, change management, and cost control mechanisms are in place.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice on cost-related issues.
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure effective financial management.
  • Ensure all work is in line with company standards, contractual requirements, and best practices in cost management.
  • Support the procurement process and lead on the commercial negotiation of contracts.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of detailed financial reports to stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in cost management within large infrastructure projects, with a preference for rail sector, high ways or mass civil experience.
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, budget control, and financial risk management.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience in NEC option A and option C contracts desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as RICS or equivalent are highly desirable.
